General Observations:

This was one of the finest groups of puppies that I have watched in a while. I saw good heads with good stops and nice dark eyes. Good mouths with large teeth, good bites, and dentition. Puppies were in good condition. I do not judge puppy coats, although, I may comment on them.

6 - 9 month puppy dogs. 10 entries

What a lovely class of young boys, and a difficult class to choose from.

1st  McErin Jack Daniels — Red brindle was well balanced, and a good mover with attitude, and a good expression. Handled himself well.

2nd  Kiowa Mmdw Lord of the Rings — He was very close to number 1. I felt that number 1 was just a little stronger in the rear.

3rd  Kinloch’s Marshall Canyon — Brindle with good attitude, movement, and was in good coat. Front a little stronger on 1 and 2.

4th  Dogwood Love Affair — A lovely grey brindle, needing a little more maturity to strengthen movement.

9 - 12 month puppy dogs. 4 entries

Another nice class of young boys.

1st  Whetstone Webmaster — Grey brindle with a good head, attitude, balance and movement. I look forward to seeing this boy at maturity.

2nd  Moonshadow’s Marco Polo — Red, in good coat, nice head and good movement. He was a little bigger than number 1.

3rd Gremlins Smilin Dallas — Brindle, a well balanced dog. He made a beautiful profile, good attitude, and good coat. Number 1 and 2 were stronger in front movement.

4th  Presque Isle’s Copper Rok —  Red brindle; another nice boy, but not quite as balanced as the others

6 - 9 month puppy bitches. 15 entries.

A beautiful class of young bitches. I had a very difficult decision here and would like to have placed more girls.

1st - Kiowa Mmdw Driving Miss Daisy — Wheaten brindle. A beautiful young bitch with expression, attitude, balance, body and ease of movement. She had it all on that day.

2nd - Cabaret Moon Dance — Brindle. Another lovely bitch. A very close second to number 1.  A little bigger bitch.

3rd - Whetstone Minnie Pearl — Brindle. As nice as number 2. On another day the positions could change.

4th - Cairnacre’s Silk Taffetta — A good moving bitch with good attitude, needing a little more maturity.

9 - 12 month puppy bitch. 10 entries

Beautiful class,  with more difficult decisions.

1st  Penticharm Princess Royal — Wheaten brindle. Wonderful expression, balance, movement, in good condition. Great attitude when moving.

2nd  Runrig’s Hotter N’ Hades — Black brindle. Just as nice as number 1, a little smaller girl. Beautiful profile, but number 1 had a bit better balance on the move.

3rd  Aftonshire’s Meadow Song — Brindle. Another lovely young girl, with the above  attributes. She was just outshone today by number 1 and 2.

4th  Aftonshire’s Sunbeam  — Wheaten. I see her littermate had the edge on her today. I felt this sister was not in quite as good condition.

Best Puppy Bitch — Kiowa Mmdw Driving Miss Daisy

12 - 18 months puppy dogs. 8 entries.

A handsome class with more difficult decisions.

1st - Cairngorm Still the One — grey brindle - beautiful head, and neck, good expression, pleasing balance, and free moving.

2nd - Mistywyns Durango — dark brindle - a little more leg under this dog, very handsome and in good condition. He moved not quite as freely as number 1.

3rd Winsome Fergus Mac Flynn — brindle, another fine exhibit, a little shorter on leg, balance not as pleasing, but moved out well.

4th  Cairncroft Yankee Rebel of Wolf pit — red brindle, a sound dog, with good expression, but did not move out as well today.

12 - 18 month puppy bitches . 7 entries.

I did not see the depth in this class as in the others.

1st Cherbo Windsor Annee —brindle - she has good expression, balance and movement, in good condition.

2nd  Crooked Billet’s Dufdon Ms. B — wheaton - moved well with good attitude, but not in as good condition as number 1.

3rd  Cherbo Barking Bridgette — brindle - similar to number 1, but shorter on leg, and not as free moving.

4th  Nightfall’s G’Day — red brindle - a sound bitch in good condition, but front movement not as good.

Best of Opposite Sex —  McErin Jack Daniels

Veterans Sweepstakes 7 years  -13 ½ years.

I cannot possibly critique the Veterans - they all are winners, because they were there.

I will give my opinion of my Best in Veteran in Sweeps — Ch. Wood Berry of Wolfpit. At 13 ½ years young Woody was presented in top notch condition, bright, moving like a youngster, and could not be denied. Congratulations Marlie and Lydia — he was made right and kept right. Thank you for bringing him to me.

I thank the CTCA for the honour of judging your puppies and veterans. It was a daunting task, but I am confident in the knowledge that our Breed is in good hands.
