THE CAIRN

Judge's Critique -- Potomac Cairn Terrier Club Specialty

April 18, 2003

I sincerely thank you for the visit to see your Cairns and the wonderful entry you received for myself and co-judge Mrs M Shriver.

All exhibitors can be proud of their achievements with their Cairn Terriers. They have very good heads with a good stop, neat ears and lovely expressions. Good free striding movement and most have a good, hard, firm muscle tone. Maybe length of leg is a little different between our countries, but only slightly in a few exhibits. I was very impressed with the high standard of Cairn Terriers in all the classes. Thank you for the privilege of handling them. They are splendid! Best of Breed Competition:
This class was overwhelming. To see many Cairns in the ring at the same time was just amazing. I felt very honored and humbled to be a breeder of these wonderful "Best Little pals From Scotland!" To the Potomac Cairn Terrier Club and all the Cairn exhibitors on the day, I thank you for the honor and privilege to see them all in the ring.

From this class I selected Marquees Green With Envy, Ch. Dogwood Pentium Processor, Ch. Dufdon's Cam Two, Ch. Knightshire's Friar, and Ohioville Mohonk for Award of Merit. Also, my BOB Wellingly Wait and See and Ch. Rosecroft Best Laid Plans as BOS.

Stud Dogs:
1st. D.L. Blackwood & L.C. Hutchinson's Ch. Cairnhoe Highlander of Wolfpit: A very nice type of dog in appearance and nature. His progeny were splendid, mostly very good young bitches who will further enhance the breed.

I had a very good ring steward who was most helpful. Thank you very much.

Sincerely,

Judith Parker-Tucker
