From time to time I'll ask that you take a moment to review your forum signature. Does it comply with forum guidelines? If it does not, please take another moment to correct or delete it. Thanks!

Keep signatures short
In the interest of controlling bandwidth and enhancing readability, extravagant or distracting signatures are strongly discouraged. The forum provides a robust profile capability for contact information and personalization. If you use a signature, it may not exceed 5 lines. Images in signatures may not exceed 100 x 500 pixels. No signature shall exceed a height of 100px plus one line of default text. Violations may be edited without notice.

Two common questions:

Q: What does "extravagant or distracting" mean?
A: If a reader's eye is drawn to your signature rather than to the content of your post, your signature may be distracting. Examples include animations, extreme formatting, etc.

Q: I don't understand what you're saying about image sizes.
A: Maybe an example will help!

... and this is a line of default signature text. Learn more.

It's enjoyable to have a little fun with our avatars and signatures. As long as we keep the main purpose of Cairn Talk at the forefront --- which is your unique contributions, not the "wrapping paper" of signatures and avatars -- everything's fine.

Thanks!
