Hello All!!!

I am new here and just wanted to introduce you all to my baby girl. Pink's Lackadaisical Dream or Daisy as she likes to be called came into our lives in early November. She was born August 12, 2006. We got Daisy after the passing of our 12 year old Min Pin Bandit's battle with cancer got the best of him on October 9, 2006. God rest his little soul. We had never thought about any other dog than another Min Pin until I saw Daisy. I never realized that Toto was not a mutt. I know now the joy of having a Cairn. She is best little dog and man is she smart. She was easy to house break and never whines when in her crate unless she needs to potty. Anyway, I could keep on ramblin' about her and don't get me started talking about Bandit. I could tell you some stories about my little buddy but I still get choked up just thinking about him. I hope you guys enjoy the picture of Daisy. It is a picture when she was just a little thing but it is a good one. It's also my avatar. I think I throw in one of Bandit just for ol' times sake.

Daisy is Beautiful

Bandit looked such a sweet little soul too I know the pain you feel over him as I lost my beloved Lucy (Avatar) aged 12 years last august through pancreatitis she also had SARDS. I now have Gem (3yrs) who came to live with us in September( signature) We can't replace our loved ones but another one to love does help to mend a broken heart.
You will share lots of happy times with Daisy just as you did with Bandit. She is Gorgeous!

Hi Mike - Both Daisy and Bandit are adorable. We live in the unsnowy green mountains of Vermont with 6 dogs and 2 kids. (and a cat and beta fish). We have three greyhounds, a lab mix and a 10 lb parti poodle. Last but not least, we have AuSable Fork's Duncan McDonut - AKA Duncan. Duncan is the baby in the bunch and is a lively addition to our more laid back bunch. He is a lot of fun and I would get another cairn in a heartbeat. Not right this minute though because my husband would divorce me! Anyway, enjoy your new baby - they grow up too fast. I still remmeber the day that I got my 13 year old poodle Sara. She was approx 6 weeks old at the time. I think you will enjoy this forum - it will answer many questions for you.

Thank you all very much for the warm welcome! I am sure I will be posting more pictures of Daisy very soon. I bought my better half, Tammy, a new camera (Canon Digital Rebel XTI 10.1 megapixel) for Christmas. She is the shutter bug of the house. I thought I would mention our other animals. Most don't like them but Tammy and I love them almost as much as our Daisy. We currently keep and breed a multitude on snakes. We have 5 boas (Hogg Island & Columbian), 6 Ball Pythons, 2 Malaysian Cave Dwelling Rat Snakes, 2 Whitesided Black Rat Snakes & a ton of various corn snakes. In all I think we currently have around 40 or so. We had around 70 until a big sell not too long ago. The most we have had at one time was close to 200 with all the babies that hatched that year. I hope I didn't creep anyone out but snakes are good pets too. In fact sometimes better. You can give them water and feed them, leave for vacation and they don't care if you are gone or not. Just have someone check on them and they are OK. Dogs on the other hand have to go with you or be board. Then they get depressed when you are gone. Not to mention that we miss them too. Anyway thanks again for the welcome and I am sure this forum will come in very handy with the knowledge in the future.

Welcome Mike and Daisy! Your little Bandit was very precious looking. I lost my beloved choc. lab 5 yrs ago this month. You'd think the pain would go away, but as I approach the date we had to put him down, my wound seems to reopen. Having my Cairns sure does help w/ the healing process tho.

Wow! You definitely are into snakes! I had a small boutique type pet store years ago specializing in hand fed birds, but I also had a variety of snakes and had an excellent employee who loved taking care of them. No snakes here, but we do have a bearded dragon, leopard gecko and uromastyx. You're right, their care is much easier than our furbabies. The cost we spent on boarding the time we went on a cruise was more than if we had taken another person along.

Looking forward to seeing more pictures of Daisy.

Daisy is precious! I shed a tear when I saw Bandit's darling face. I lost my Missy, cairn terrier November 2004 at the age
of 17. She had a wonderful life and I so enjoyed her golden years. I miss her so much and tear up at times but now we have Kramer, Cairn terrier he just turned two in October. You will get so much enjoyment and love from Daisy it really helps heal the heart. We never forget our ones that passed but we learn to love another without forgetting our bridge kids. Each pet is so different in there ways. Missy was a little princess (very spoiled) very bossy, dominate little girl and Kramer he is the most loveable little boy dog I have ever know. So, we love them all in a different way.

of Bandit....we've "been there done that" and it just simply takes a while to
start feeling better.

Meanwhile, Daisy is just beautiful...thank you for introducing her to us.
