Hi all I just needed to vent my excitement :D because on Sunday morning we will be picking up our first foster Cairn! :D His name is Irwin and he is from an Amish puppy mill in Pennsylvainia. He is almost 5 months old. I can't wait to see him! I'll post some pics as soon as I can so everyone can see him too, I may need some serious help not getting like totally attatched to this little baby, I bet he is heartbreakingly adorable!!

I think fostering is wonderful! I'd love to do it except my attachment levels are so crazy I could never let them go - :) that's so sad about the puppy mill! I wish none of them existed, they're absoutely horrible and should be against every law there is. Congrats for doing this very special thing for a little itty bitty Cairn :)

That is so wonderful of you to foster a Cairn. I too would have a hard time not getting attached. I'd love to foster, but I'm not sure how my oldest Kiara would handle it. She tries to boss our Lab and Aussie around. Instead of fostering, I donate and I'm also going to sponsor a Cairn or be a guardian for one that has high medical bills.

I can't wait to see pictures!

Good for you! I too would be unable to let go once the puppy came home I'm afraid.
Puppy mills are an abomination, sure doesn't sound like my mental impression of the Amish. I guess animal cruelty is an equal opportunity affliction and knows no boundaries.
Animal cruelty laws need serious teeth, federal teeth. A couple years in Lewisberg federal for a first offence sounds about right. Let the offenders see what being treated like an animal can be like.

Hurray for you...and thank you for taking care of this little one! I am too much of a mush-hearted wuss and it would kill me to have to give the dog up even knowing it was going to a good home.

I can't wait to hear all about your latest addition.

Well I am really excited about it fortunately we have three dogs that are used to haveing fosters around and do really well with it, but I TOTALLY get attatched to each of the dogs that come into my home, I don't think there is any way around that! :P Our last foster was a Cocker Spaniel (which generally is SO not my breed) but this one stole my heart. We had him for nine months and I cried like a baby when he left! I cry with all of them but I know they are going to only the best homes! I can't wait until he gets here. I will try to post pics of him so ya'll can see how adorable he is.

I cry when everyone of my fosters or socialized animals leave for their new home. The only way it works is for them to love you so they can also love someone else. Of course it is impossible to resist something that loves you.
Good deal on the new pup, let us know how he's doing, if I can help in any way let me know.

Having just adopted a rescue pup, thanks for what you are doing.

Chewie is a great little dog and when I think of what would have happened to him in just a couple days if we hadnt taken him it makes me cringe.
