If you are looking for a Cairn in Southern California...
...please get/wait for a reference for a reputable breeder!
I bought a female pup from a breeder in Palmdale/Lake Los Angeles that withheld vital information about our pup's registration. During the process of purchase, the breeder, Annette, neglected to mention limited registration (i.e. no AKC recognized showing or breeding). When I received the registration forms, I was irrate. Not only did the breeder limit my pup's registration, she became very difficult (impossible) to reach. The only option I have left for changing my dog's registration is through a costly and uncertain civic court trial.
Needless to say, if you are going to buy a quality pup, BEWARE, buy from a breeder who has been referred by the AKC or one of it's breed clubs. Sometimes they take a while to get back to you but the alternative is much worse!
