I know a lot of you are a lot colder now, and for a lot longer. Waking up today in Tampa FL it was 30 degrees!!! Both fur babies did thier "business" really fast.

Now that the sun is up, they are catching all the "rays" that can to stay warm. :P

I'll be glad when it warms up as well. I grew up in the midwest, but after 15 years in FL, my blood has thinned, and it's COLD.

Have a great day everyone.

Geesh...that's pretty chilly for Florida isn't it? I'm way north in London, Ontario, Canada - yesterday we had wind chills of -17 C (approx. 1 degree F). Luckily my guys LOVE the snow. But in those temperatures we limit their time outside - wouldn't want them to get frostbite.

Keep warm!

Love the photo - Holly likes to lie in sun too especially when it is shining into my living room - she moves with the sun round the carpet!

Here is is wet and windy the last few days so we are not seeing the sun and walks are hard work! Hollydoes not mind light rain or soft breezes but objects to walking in heavy rain and very rough winds! So do I! However, we have managed short walks but think she would prefer to walk in the sun even if it were cold.

Jock is enjoying our very weird weather here in the Alberta prairies! We have not really had winter start as yet. A skiff of snow and most days 4 to 8 degrees above freezing. Usually its around 20 - 40 degrees below freezing! Somehow I think we are going to pay and pay big time around mid January! Florida weather... I love it.

That is quite cold for FL (I lived in Tampa for a while). My mom is still there and she said they are worried about the strawberry and citrus crops. I totally understand about the blood thinning :) It all becomes relative, eh?
What a great pic of the sun dogs.

That's a great picture of the two sun goddesses. That is cold for Florida. My two love to bask in the sunbeam in our kitchen as well. The last couple of days have gotten really cold, but we still don't have any snow. I have to agree with Terrier Lover that we may pay dearly for the mild winter so far.

I love the picture. I would like to soak up some rays to but it is cloudy here in Tennessee, and very cold. wind chill were 7 yesterday I normally would say thats not to bad but after having 60 degree temperatures all week it might as well been 40 below 0. lol I know exactly what you mean by blood being thin.
I get use to the cold when it is cold every day but when it goes from 60 degrees to 7 degrees I don't handle it well. I like it a lot better when it is a gradual change. Kelly didn't like the change yesterday either. She was very quick to do her business and didn't ask to go out near as often.

FL Frey, not sure where in FL you are, but we are probably close because it was 20 something here.

Murphy doesn't seem to mind the cold at all. I have to bundle up in a coat, socks, my lone hold out pair of sweaties, shoes, scarf, hat, gloves just to take him out to find just the right spot to poo poo - finicky little critter. Takes me forever to warm up.

I moved to Florida to have it warm or hot all the time. I don't like this at all!

I don't know how you Northerners (and by Northerners, I mean anyone above the state line of FL) handle it.

Love the pups and they always find the warmest spots. Layla loves the wood burning stove and will lay in front of it for hours. Today was also cold up here in Maine. It was probably 3 degrees but I bundled up warmly and decided not to put on her coat for our daily walk in the forest - perhaps I should have being so cold. But..we know it will get a lot colder so best we wait before added additional layers. Hope the weather improves for your sake and us Northerners are used to this weather so it's just grin and bear it time.

Usually we have 0 to 20 F this time of year. Tomorrow they are predicting 40's so I'm not complaining at all. And no snow!!! Which means no salt on the streets. My car is loving it too.

I put Malcolm's kitchen chair by the window in the sunshine. He likes to take a nap there when the sun is shining in. Thats about the only time he will sit in his own chair, otherwise he wants my chair lol.

Fran and I have played golf here the last two days--been between 50-54 degrees for several days. This is the mildest winter I can remember in many years. We have had two ski areas have to shut down after they opened because of lack of snow.

Idaho Cairns - I should ship DH out to you! We have had an unusually mild winter, and he did comment on Christmas that perhaps he should look for a local golf course that was open...mind you, it is in the 30s. A little sleet and snow on New Years Eve, but now that is melting in the above-freezing temps. I came home from work yesterday to find the practice club in the middle of the living room.
(Yes, that was off-topic. On topic: both dogs love to lay on the top of the living room couch in the sun. But then they bark frantically at anyone walking by, and I live in an active neighborhood in the city, so lots of people and dogs walk by. It's not as restful here as it looks in FL Frey's photo...)

It's going to be 60 here today and the golf courses have been full for weeks. I have a friend who golfed on Christmas Day! Both dogs and I would really like to see some snow before we head to Florida for a month, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. Our little guys love snow and would stay out all day in it. Of course, that doesn't mean that a quick nap in the sun isn't called for sometimes!

We haven't had any snow to speak of in the Chicago area, either. It hasn't been a huge disappointment for me, but Buffy and Ziggy love playing in the snow and they haven't had the opportunity. I don't remember a winter here when I hadn't yet shoveled any snow by January 5th!
