We have the COMPLETE opposite problem here. Oliver never comes and looks for attention, actually he seems abnormally satisfied with being under the bed alone. My husband and I are the one's that are begging him to come and play or get scratches. If Oliver could type he would have probably started a topic on here very similar to this one, "Does anyone else's human do this?" :D

Dapper Dan is 3 yrs old and loves attention, esp from Daddy(my husband) we have no children, so Dapper is our child
He will do the short bark, with the tail wagg and then if he's really persistent then it's tail wagging, butt up in the air, with a snap of the teeth. He is hilarious to watch, esp when he gets crazy with his toys.
Dapper at a young age taught himself how to play fetch... he is very good with repetition. He knows that the toy will be tossed if brought to me or my husband and then we say "drop" he drops the toy in our lap or in our hand, then gets ready for the toy to be thrown. Our older dog Jager who is a 6yr old puggle, never figured this out, but gets enjoyment of Dapper knowing how to play fetch,so he can catch the toy once in awhile, if he is quick enough. Dapper Dan will play fetch for hours, until his tongue is hanging out the side of his mouth and he goes and lays down on one of the vents for the a/c to cool off his belly. He loves the a/c and knows it will cool him off if he lays over the vent when it's on, and he knows the sound of it when it's about to turn on. I can never get a picture of him on the vent, he can't sit still to long, always into something else.

OMG this is just hilarious... Napoleon does the same, he has this special sound saved only for saturdays and Sunday mornings, when is past the time we usually get ready for work, he will start making this sound so we can start horse playing with him...god forbid we get an extra 10 minutes of sleep on the weekend!!!

Better yet during the week, as soon as he sees I'm about to go out the door, he will go grab his favority toy(a bunny) and starts walking around through the kitchen livining room whimpering... to put the guilt trip on us.

Kirby makes all the snapping, yips when we are in the living room watching tv, reading etc. But, save you work on the computer because he learned to hit the power button with his nose and the little bugger just sneeks in and turns off the computer so you will pay attention!

Another thing that drives me batty, and I've mentioned this before, is the door game. Bark, I want to go out! (trots out; door closes) Bark, I want in! (door opens; Cairn DOES NOT COME IN). Fine; door slams shut. BARK! Door opens; Cairn does not come in.

Currey has his own version of the door game. He barks or rings the bell at the back door. When you reach down to pick him up or leash him, he crouches and then bounces out of your reach. He wants to be chased and pretends that he wants to go out to get us to chase him.

I have only had a few dogs before Currey, but I can honestly say, I've never met at dog that creates games and convinces people to play the games by his rules. I feel like most dogs are like 2 year old kids and he's more like a 4 year old. Listens only when he wants...is only about 95% potty trained....and makes his own games and gets the adults to play and whines if they don't play!

On the subject of fetch, my dog does not fetch. He doesn't even bring me toys. Yes, of course, he tricks me into getting the toys for him!
